Driving

The Wyndham, 2nd Story Brewing, Plough and the Stars, Irish Famine Memorial, are near routes 676 and 95 in the Penn’s Landing area. Parking can be expensive in Philadelphia as in any large city.

Some sites and options for travel to Philadelphia:

International Airports

Smaller, regional airports

Mass Transit

  • Amtrak Several Amtrak routes have stops in Philadelphia, including from Boston, Connecticut, NY, NJ, Baltimore, and Washington, D.C. as well as farther south and west of Philadelphia.
  • NJTransit is New Jersey’s rail and bus system. You can take the NJTransit northeast corridor train line from New York Penn Station, Newark Penn Station, Newark Airport Station, and other stations to Trenton and transfer to Septa which is the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority. This is a less expensive option than Amtrak, which also stops at those stations. Amtrak is faster, and direct to Philadelphia 30th Street Station. You can also transfer from the NJTransit northeast corridor line in Trenton to NJTransit’s RiverLine light rail system to Camden, where there are transfers to Philadelphia (Patco, buses, ferry). NJTransit also has an Atlantic City Rail line to 30th Street Station in Philadelphia.
  • Septa is a regional rail system within Southeastern Pennsylvania, and also has a stop in Trenton, NJ. If you book a hotel in suburban Philadelphia, you may want to see if it is near a Septa station. Septa has a map of the City on its site. The Septa 2nd Street station is closest to our party venue; the 5th Street station, closest to the Wyndham.
  • PATCO is a high speed train line between southern NJ and within Philadelphia. The Patco 8th and Market Street station is near the historic district.
  • Walter Rand Transportation Center in Camden, NJ, is served by the NJTransit RiverLine, PATCO speed line, NJTransit use and Greyhound Intercity buses.
  • In the Summer, there is ferry service between Camden, NJ and the Penn’s Landing area of Philadelphia.  Make sure to check the hours of operation!
